ABOUT

Isaac Wright spent the last 15 years as a political operative and strategist, often taking on tough odds in campaigns and public advocacy, and ultimately building his own strategic communications consulting practice. As executive director of Correct The Record, Wright led the day-to-day operations of the principal Presidential 2016 SuperPAC effort devoted to defending Hillary Clinton.

Wright’s strategic analyses of the 2016 Presidential campaign environment have been featured in USA Today, Politico, Time, MSNBC, National Journal and CNN.

Wright began working in campaign activities as the youngest member of the national communications staff on the Gore-Lieberman 2000 campaign. Wright’s experiences include numerous gubernatorial and federal campaigns. Wright served as an early primary state communications director for the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2007 and 2008. He has been a senior strategist in the election and re-election efforts of Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. He previously served as Communications Director in the Office of Governor Mike Beebe and was the youngest communications director to any governor in the country at that time.

Newspaper columnists have referred to Wright as “a Southerner trained in the culture and keen on how Democrats compete in the region.” He’s been described by columnists as “closed captioning for the candidate” and “overseer of the message.” Specifically, his rapid response work was described in one news account as, “stealing another candidate’s sunshine.”

Campaigns & Elections Magazine named Wright a “Rising Star” of politics in 2011. Wright has received six Pollie Awards and a Reed Award, the highest national professional awards in the political and public advocacy campaigns industry.

Arkansas Business Magazine named Wright, previously of Little Rock, to its “40 Under 40” list of the most influential people under the age of 40 in politics and business in the Natural State. Wright has been a pundit and analyst on numerous television affiliate newscasts. His insights on communications strategy and tactics were published as a case study in Campaigns & Elections Magazine. Wright has appeared on POTUS radio’s “Morning Briefing” about digital efforts in modern political campaigns.

An active believer in young people’s involvement in the political process, Wright is a former professional adviser to the Tennessee Federation of College Democrat and has guest lectured on strategic communications and political communications at five institutes of higher learning in Tennessee, Arkansas and South Carolina. Wright was recently honored as the University of Tennessee Public Relations Alumnus Of 2014.
