Santiago Martinez is a Senior Vice President at 270 Strategies, where he helps organizations make informed, data-driven decisions to meet their goals. He joins 270 Strategies after serving most recently as the data and targeting director at America Votes. In 2012, Santiago was the North Carolina data director for President Obama’s re-election campaign, where he used reporting and targeting to build one of the most sophisticated data shops in the campaign’s 10 battleground states.
Santiago got his start in 2008 as a field organizer in North Carolina, where he aided in President Obama’s historic 14,000-vote victory. His experience includes data and analytics work at Organizing for America, the grassroots organization born out of the 2008 election dedicated to supporting the President’s policy initiatives. Santiago also serves on the Board of Directors at the Latin American Youth Center which strives to empower a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through multi-cultural, comprehensive, and innovative programs that address youths’ social, academic, and career needs.
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Santiago is a lifelong fan of all Arizona sports teams, holding out hope that this will finally be the Cardinals’ year. He is an avid record collector, a habit that started after he “borrowed” some of his dad’s favorite records, and enjoys spending his free time at the record store or at home with his turntables. Santiago and his wife are relishing life in D.C. exploring the free museums, taking in the sights, and going on long walks in the park with their beagle, Watson.
